VISION THERAPY EVALUATION FOR CHILDREN & ADULTS
(Learning, Concussion, Brain Injury)

Our evaluation begins with a very detailed questionnaire that can be completed prior to your visit on line, or mailed or dropped off at our office prior to your visit. Any additional information (school performance testing, prior eye examination records, therapy reports) are extremely helpful for the doctor to review before your visit. Expect your testing to last from 1 to 1 1/2 hours. The purpose of this testing is to determine if visual information is being acquired and processed comfortably, clearly, accurately, and efficiently. This requires the two eyes to be able to focus correctly, align so that you do not see double vision, and both eyes are tracking efficiently. The doctor will determine and make recommendations pertaining to length and frequency of Vision Therapy.

MYOPIA CONTROL FOR CHILDREN

Over 10 Million U.S. children have myopia, by 2050, half of the world's population is predicted to be myopic. The Doctors at NYC Pupil are alarmed at the progression of myopia and deterioration in the child's vision. They provide options to families of latest research in slowing down and in some cases stopping the progression of myopia. The options vary from compounded eye drop to day time specialty contact lenses to overnight correction with corneal reshaping lenses. They will make recommendations to each child and family after a complete evaluation.

COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAMS FOR CHILDREN & ADULTS

The Doctors and the NYC Pupil team take every comprehensive eye exams very seriously.  We see patients of all ages, so far our youngest is 4 days old and most senior is 103!  During examination, our patients will receive a detailed medical and ocular history, eye pressure assessment, visual acuity, peripheral vision screening, eye muscle balance testing, determination of your prescription, pupil reaction assessment, and a detailed internal and external ocular health examination. Ocular images will be taken for documentation and proper follow up care.

CONTACT LENSES FOR CHILDREN & ADULTS

Daily-wear soft, extended-wear disposable, and planned replacement are the various types of contact lens options available today. Our doctor will discuss the various options with you to determine which type will best fit your needs and lifestyle.

LASIK

Laser assisted in situ keratomileusis, commonly referred to as LASIK, is a corrective alternative to glasses or contact lenses. Like glasses or contact lenses, LASIK is a method for treating refractive conditions including nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism. At NYC Pupil, the Doctors provides pre- and post-operative exams for LASIK and other eye procedures.
